Blondes across the pond…
Thanks to 30 fans on Detour, we’re bringing Blondes over from NYC to play London’s Bussey Building this summer!
Having met studying electroacoustic composition and studio art (don’t ask us) together in Ohio, Zach Steinman and Sam Haar took the collective musical world by storm with the release of their debut album last year. Winning perfect 10/10 reviews on Drowned in Sound, features in the Guardian and Vice, and a burgeoning swathe of fans, we are thrilled to be able to bring the hypnotic shimmer of their Balearic electronica to London.
They describe their music as “an infinite beat divorced from codified structural forms which grows and mutates at its own pace”. While we may not know 100% what that means – we’re pretty stoked to find out. And don’t just take our word for it:
“It’s crystalline dance music…straight-up goosebumps” - Vice
“Their music makes us conjure up in our mind’s eye an ever growing pulsating brain that rules from the centre of the ultraworld” – The Guardian
“Nothing short of devastating…bliss, it’s that simple” – Drowned In Sound
With their new record, Swisher, out now, Blondes look set to expand their aesthetic with a deeper sense of mystery, and solidify their status as one of the most exciting producers around. Stream the album in full for yourself.
So we’ll see you at The Bussey Building / 10pm – 6am / Sunday 25th August (bank holiday weekend!) to experience this duo’s thoroughly engrossing spin on live electronic music. If you pledged £4 or more, sit back and relax – your ticket is guaranteed. If not, tickets are available here!
