Goat’s first headline London show with Detour & ATP
When ATP joined Detour as a curator earlier this month, we were incredibly excited to be working with such a legendary team. Today, less than two weeks later, we are delighted to announce that fans have successfully confirmed the second Detour London campaign; the enigmatic new Swedish psych afrobeat collective Goat. Goat will be coming to London to play their debut headline show in June, thanks to the 50+ fans who pledged and ATP who lead the campaign.
Goat’s stunning debut album, World Music, received almost unanimous praise, and appeared on a ton of best of 2012 lists, including Rough Trade, Picadilly Records, and Uncut magazine. The Quietus described it as a “forceful and infectious masterpiece of cosmic rock & roll”, whilst the Guardian reviewed it as “one of 2012′s biggest underground rock albums” and “head-spinningly great fun throughout”. We couldn’t agree more.
It’s not just their album that’s good, either. Goat’s performance at Supersonic was a highlight of the festival, so we’re expecting this debut London headline show to be HUGE. If you’re still not convinced, check out the two videos below.
Tickets will go onsale Tuesday 10am at http://detour-ldn.songkick.com/tickets
The show will be on the 27th June at Scala. Supports TBA.
Goat is the first of many amazing new bands we’ll be bringing to London with ATP over the coming year. If you want to be part of deciding who we bring over, sign up to Detour London now (first come first served!).
