Thirty-two summers ago, a train set off from Toronto, Canada, carrying with it The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and The Band, for a tour that would be labelled ‘The Canadian Woodstock’. This coming July, in awe of that epic journey, Skrillex and friends will be hopping onboard a private passenger train and voyaging to a host of Canadian cities for a series of gargantuan shows – rolling into Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, Edmonton and last stop Vancouver. What’s more, support comes from Diplo, Grimes, Pretty Lights, Koan Sound and Tokimonsta. Tickets, please!
Justin Vernon has thirty-nine performances lined up for this summer, and he’ll be wrapping up the season in style with two nights at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on September 19th and 20th. Best New Artist at this year’s Grammys, Album Of The Year at Pitchfork and a solid favourite at Songkick HQ, Bon Iver’s live show is something else. Check them out at Haldern Pop Festival back in 2009, and don’t miss out on tickets on sale tomorrow!
Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit are supporting Jack White in London this June, but they’ll be back for another taste of British air later in the year with a new tour announced this week. A November double-header at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire exemplifies just what a successful 2012 it’s been for sisters Johanna and Klara, with shows also scheduled in Manchester, Glasgow and Bristol. Latest album ‘The Lions Roar’ was met with huge critical acclaim, and shot straight to number one in the girls’ homeland; it’s truly great stuff. Grab your tickets tomorrow morning.
