Say hello to our new Songkick interns!

We have two new interns to introduce today – Elliot and Theo, who will be with us for 2 months working hard to keep our listings top notch! Check out our jobs page here for more info on internships and full-time opportunities.

Elliot Hancock

Tell us a little bit about yourself

Born and bred in Surrey, graduated from Manchester last year. Festival addict seeking professional help.

What’s your role at Songkick?

Intern / Data Warrior

What was the first concert you went to (that you’re not embarrassed to share..)

Muse at Earls Court, 2004. When I lose my hearing in later life, I’ll know for sure that this night was to blame.

Any particularly awesome/interesting concert memories/stories to tell?

I was watching The Mae Shi at Camden Barfly when the frontman came out into the crowd, put his guitar over me and played an entire song just thrashing at the strings. It was totally embarrassing at the time, and actually quite painful, but it makes a good story!

What upcoming concerts/festivals are you looking forward to – any recommendations?

Feist at London Palladium will be awesome, can’t get enough of her new album, and I’m really excited for Bon Iver at Pitchfork Music Festival Paris! If you feel like a pick-me-up on a dreary October evening then Real Estate at The Garage is the place to be.

Theo England

Tell us a little bit about yourself

Grew up in Somerset and have just graduated from Goldsmiths College in History and Politics. My music taste now worryingly resembles my Dad’s.

What’s your role at Songkick?

Data Warrior!

What was the first concert you went to (that you’re not embarrassed to share..)

Oh…probably a Hard-Fi or Razorlight gig…! Probably because I had a profound connection with the lyrics of “cash machine” and “living for the weekend”.

Any particularly awesome/interesting concert memories/stories to tell?

Watching Toots and the Maytals on the final day of Glastonbury last year was a pretty incredible end to the festival! Bob Dylan at Feis this summer still had “it” – although I can’t put my finger on what that is! He’s now sounding like the dog from the Walls Balls sausage adverts.

What upcoming concerts/festivals are you looking forward to – any recommendations?

Felice Brothers at Koko in early December should be loud and a lot of fun. Also very much looking forward to Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings at the Hammersmith Apollo next month.

Thanks guys!
