Post-concert reviews:

Art Brut, The Lexington, London, UK, 3 June 2011

Really high energy show but half the songs played were from their first album, to the detriment of Art Brut vs. Satan which is one of their best. Last time I saw them was in 2006 and despite having produced three albums since then, the setlist was hardly different.

Otherwise, The Lexington is an incredible venue. Great bar to eat and drink at before the show and the concert venue itself proved winningly intimate, which allowed for numerous forays into the crowd by frontman Eddie Argos.

Primavera, Barcelona, Spain, 25-29 May 2011

Had a fabulous weekend – bar hassles on the first day, and communications about that and the prebooking stuff was pretty rubbish, but the actual music, and the surrounding shennanigans was superb. Sufjan was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a year or two. TuneYards, Swans, and Baths, stood out for me, too. Dancing til dawn with Girl Talk and Casper was great fun. The afterparty and Sunday event was a little flat, but even then there were some good moments.
