Songkick Team Away Day

The other week, the whole Songkick team took a day away from computers, emails and coding, and ventured outside of our Shoreditch comfort zone onto the waterways of London.

It was a bit of an end-of-quarter celebration, and we did it in style on a fully-catered canal boat (let me break down fully-catered for you: cooked breakfast, amazing lunch spread, tea and scones, and not forgetting, lots of beer).

We started the trip off in Paddington and made our way along the canal to Regents Park – naturally the Zoo beckoned so we hopped off there to check out the animals…

…and to assemble for the obligatory team photo:

We then carried on along towards Islington, with games en route, including a serious round of Poker in which Ian showed everyone how it’s done. And for the non-gamblers, a spot of Uno.

The final stop was a pub in Islington, where we probably made the owners more money in one day than they usually make in a month (not that we are alcoholics…it was just a quiet pub…!). Here a tense game of Risk was played, which may have caused some permanent rivalry amongst certain team members. There’s even been talk of a rematch…

A big thanks goes out to our awesome Office Manager Kaisa who organised the whole thing :)

(also thanks to Michael and Sam for the photos!)

PS if you like the sound of this and think you’d be a good fit to join us for our end-of-second-quarter celebrations - we’re hiring!
