Songkick + NME Music Photography Awards

When it comes to live music, nothings tops the excitement of actually being at the show, but a good picture can certainly help you relive it. Songkick and NME love celebrating these moments, especially the ones captured by gig-going amateur photographers… like you?

If you’ve got a talent for live concert photography, or just happened to be in the right place at the right time at some magnificent gigs, enter your shots in the NME Music Photography Awards contest, presented by Nikon.

Songkick is sponsoring a “Live” category for the non-professional photographers among us (entrants who have not earned more than 10% of their total income, or £5000 annually from photography).

Visit http://www.nme.com/photoawards/categories to enter your photos (up to five per entrant). The deadline for submissions is 1st September 2010. Winners will be decided by a panel of judges, who will also make special consideration of those photos that are shortlisted by the public vote.

Prizes include the Nikon D700, Nikon COOLPIX p100, Nikon COOLPIX S3000 and Nikon D5000. You will also win the chance for your photographs to be exhibited at the British Music Experience alongside artifacts from some of the UK’s biggest recording artists from David Bowie and the Beatles to Oasis and Amy Winehouse.

Not a photographer but love a cool pic? Check out the entries here and cast a vote for your favorite shot.

And if you haven’t already, be sure to add your photos to Songkick to help other fans relive concerts. We just rolled out beautiful new Past Events pages that show-off some of the amazing photography of our users. Check out some of our favorites:

What are some of your favorties?
